I've got a good one for you today, and it is an example of what I've mentioned
before about private label rights and how important it is to rewrite and edit
the content.
A marketer who I really respect sent an email with an offer to get free affiliate
training. He has done this in the past, and he gives away some really good info.
There's a reason he does this, and it is really a good example of good marketing.
I clicked on the link and was sent to an offer page with an order button. The price
was $0, and there was a price of $97 that was crossed out.
I doubt that this was ever sold for that price, or that it is worth a fraction of that,
but it is a typical tactic that I have seen over the years.
When I clicked on the link, I was sent to a Warrior Plus order page. I clicked on the
order button after noting that the offer was free, and was sent to the first upsell page.
That's how it makes sense to offer something for free. The first upsell was for a course
that he sells for over $30 for only $7.95. I already have that course, so I passed on
that offer. There were 2 other upsells, which I also passed on.
I checked my email, and had a confirmation link and a link to access the product.
Here's where it went wrong for me...
The free product was a 36 page PDF about affiliate marketing. What made it a mistake
for me is that as I was reading through the first few pages, it seemed familiar.
I opened a few files and found what I was looking for. A PLR product that I had
purchased a few weeks ago about affiliate marketing. I opened the main document,
and discovered that it was the exact same pdf that I was just given for free.
No changes at all. Same content. If I didn't have it in the first place, then I
would be okay with the report.
This is the reason that I recommend that if you are going to buy PLR so that you can
have products to sell, that you take the time to edit it.
If you don't you run the risk of unhappy customers and refunds.
